Dear nerds, writers and anyone in between,
I don’t know where to start, really.
I started this blog in 2009, when I was still a naïve girl looking for a safe place where she could express herself without being bullied. I called it LOST IN FICTION, because that was I how I felt at the time actually, it was who I was: a scared nerd with very few friends, who found solace and comfort in fiction of every type: books, movies, comics, great theatre plays, you name it. Any medium that could help me escape reality while explaining it to me at the same time, was a true life saver.
I found an incredible community online of scholars, intellectuals, artists, book lovers who welcomed me with open arms and help me thrive as a blogger/writer and a human being.
Said community grew everyday, supported my books (the very first people who bought my fantasy books were people reading this blog) and allowed me to interview bestselling authors like Isabel Allende, Rosamunde Pilcher and Janet Evanovich (just to name a few).
The blog kept growing until it got heavily hacked twice in 2012 and 2014, forcing me to stop and then slow down, since I was able to restore only part of its features, not having the money to pay a professional who could fix it properly.
I was also dealing with a number of very serious personal problems which held me back still, I chose not to give up and continued blogging from time to time, receiving all sort of messages from regular readers who checked on me, left positive comments, begged me not to stop, since this blog was a comfort to them, just as many others had been a comfort to me, when I had started.
I pushed through and started getting my life together, also thanks to this amazing community of people who never left me alone.
I wrote 3 more books, opened an editing business that got off the ground pretty quickly and it’s now thriving, I wrote my first script that got a placement in two major screenwriting competitions (Wescreenplay and Screenscraft).
I re-started blogging regularly while doing my best to help other fellow writers being … their best! I committed to write something every day, either my fiction, or this blog, or simply notes on my journal.
I’m a very opinionated person and decided not to hide it and started writing detailed reviews of books and movies here and … you loved them! You loved and supported everything that I was writing and promoting here, to a point that you RT, shared, recommended my blog to strangers until … this happened. This, a miracle that I’d never thought could be possible.
In March, for the very first time, this blog had over 10K UNIQUE VISITORS! UNIQUE VISITORS, people, not hits. Not bots, not spammers: over 10K PEOPLE, the equivalent of a small town, read and appreciated my nerdish rants and anal reviews of dozens of shows, movies and books. Look, at the screenshot below, I just keep pinching myself!
And, really, I don’t know what to say. I’d never dream to be this relevant, or relevant at all.
All I can do, is to THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART! I promise that I’ll keep posting quality content here, as well as FREE RESOURCES for writers eager to take their writing to the next level.
Thank you, really. I won’t let you down.
Your friendly nerd,
