How NOT To Use “Very” Too Much!

by Louisa Klein

So, people, I have a ton of reviews to finish and a deadline for a paid job, BUT, nevertheless, I still have time to give you witing tips which have been greatly appreciated lately, since my posts about how to write better got a lot of RTs and likes on my social media So… Here we are again!!

One basic rule to write smoothly is to avoid the adverd ‘very’ as much as you can. Whenever you pair ‘very’ with an adjective to express a concept, you should check if there ‘s a single adjective that allows you to express the same concept without using ‘very’; a brilliant of example of the above, is ‘very tired’ that can be replaced with ‘exhausted’. I’ve compiled for you a list of similar cases, see pasted below. I hope it helps!
