by Louisa Klein

And I’m baaaack! Guys, Rome was amazing! Just be careful and take a smartphone with you since there’s no Starbucks and you’ll find very little wirereless around. I got cut off for 2 weeks, managind to check emails and ost a few potos from a nearby bar but I really have a lot of catching up to do with emails and other cyber stuff. On the other hand, without the internet I managed to to a ton of work! 🙂 This writing retreat really was useful! Let me share with you SOME of the photos I took of the places I’ve been, can’t share them all or this blog would be only about Rome! So, let’s start!
Here’s the Saint Peter’s (designed by the great Michelangelo) columnade in the very early morning; in the background, you can see the already crazy queue to enter.
Saint Peter seen from the Via della Conciliazione, at dawn.
Inside Saint Peter: first, let me hit you with the famous altar by the amazing Brunelleschi :
The most moving statue of all: ‘La Pietá’ by Michelangelo:
The inside seen from te main entrance:
A detail of the amazing marble floor:
After Saint Peter, I was off the city centre, meandering through  Rome’s historical roads and alleys.
Until I reached Navona Square, one of the most beautiful places in the world. Here’s a pic of one of the two fountains: the Fountain of Neptune.
the church of Sant’Agnese in Agone, by Francesco Borromini, Girolamo and Carlo Rainaldi. On the left, you can see the Fountain Of The Four River (1651) by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, topped by the Obelisk of Domitian, brought here in pieces from the Circus of Maxentius, during te Roman Empire.
And I end this post with Rome by night, here’s the view on the river Tevere! Goodbye Eternal City! You were amazing!
