I'm a terrible blogger

by Louisa Klein

I know, I know. I haven’t updated the blog much lately. Thing is,  I was super-focused on Supernatural Fog, which is book 2 in my Supernatural Freak saga. Plus, I was writing a lot of promotional stuff (brochures etc) for people who actually pay me to do so, allowing me to pay my rent, for example. The end result is that I’m stressed and practically live on coffee. The guy at the coffee shop is terrified by me, I promise! Every morning I scare the hell out of him!

I’ve practically had no contact with the outside world for good 2 months.  I was just  writing and writing …

“Screw you!” My blog fans are probably now saying. “We don’t care about your fXXing problems, we want the blog! We want more cool interviews with famous authors and lots of interesting reviews.”
I: “All right, all right folks! I’ll put the book aside for a while to work on the blog and …”
“Screw you!” My readers are probably now objecting. “We don’t give a damn about the blog. We read it just to get updates about the book. We want Supernatural Fog asap! Ass on the chair and write, you moron! How come you’re so slow? How long does it fXXXig take you to write an urban fantasy? It’s not War and Peace, idiot! Don’t you know that there are authors able to write a book in a month? Stephen King wrote It in a week …”
I: “A week? That’s physically impossible …”
My Readers: “Shut up, you lazy person! Stop finding excuses and get to work!”
I: “OK, but I also have to work to pay my bills! All right, I’ll sleep even LESS and finish the book and …”
BLOG FANS :” Hey, Hey! What about the blog? We want authors! Interviews! Online events and giveaways! We don’t give a fig about your book/financial problems/both. SO ASS ON THE CHAIR AND START CONTACTING AUTHORS! LIKE, RIGHT NOW!”
OK, OK. Calm down. I’m not lazy. Really, I’m not. I’ve even tried to work at the local  library, so to have less distractions. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that well …

It’s just that I have a lot of things going on. Supernatural Fog turned to be a very exciting, yet complex book with an unexpected twist (unexpected for ME!) and a number of characters who showed up uninvited and decided to stay, making themselves home. So now I’m trying to accomodate everyone while editing Supernatural Freak (again!) this time with the aid of the awesome Anne Victory (check her out, she and her team are editing machines!) because I want both Supernatural Freak and Supernatural Fog to be available ina flawless paperback format once once is edited and the other one is edited and published. This means that I am rewriting. And rewriting. And rewriting! More or less my situation looks like this now:

I even have a business trip in less than a month and I’m preparing the material for said business trip, which is not easy, believe me! Still, good news is that, bit by bit, I’m sorting things out. So well, in fact, that I have a publication date in mind! 😉 I’m not making it public yet, because I want to be super-sure that it’s really going to happen, nevertheless, stay tuned folks! 🙂
I have also read a few new exciting books and watched a bunch of amazing films, so I PROMISE I will blog about them, post reviews and comments. After all, most of my important work has been done, I can take a break and find the time to connect with my readers!    I just need to learn to juggle things a little better!
