1)Why Romance? Did you choose this genre or were you ‘chosen’ by it? I'm a long-time romance and romantic suspense reader so writing in this genre was a natural transition. 2) Is there a romance author, living or dead, who inspires you particularly? I am inspired by the books of the prolific Nora Roberts, who is among the best authors alive to spin an exciting story. 3) Please, tell us about your latest book and, if you can, about your future projects. In Book #1 of the Profile Series, PROFILE OF EVIL, Carly Stone is a brilliant FBI agent who's seen more than her share of evil. Leaving the agency, she becomes a consultant for Indiana County Sheriff Brody Chase, who needs her profiling skills to catch an online sex predator luring preteen girls to their deaths in his county. An undeniable attraction forms between the sheriff and his profiler, and they are unsure of how they feel about that. She's in Indiana to do a job. That's all. Once the killer is captured, she'll head home to Florida. They both vow to end the job with their hearts intact. But will the heat between them prove impossible to ignore? As the body count increases, can the predator be stopped before he kills again? A life hangs in the balance, and the Carly Stone and Sheriff Brody Chase rushes to stop the most terrifying killer of their careers — and time is running out. I plan to release PROFILE OF TERROR and PROFILE OF FEAR in 2014. 4) How was your writing journey? Was it difficult to find an agent and get published? I wrote a romantic suspense novel in 1985, went the traditional route contacting publishers and it was not published. I made a career change that year and for the next 25 plus years, I devoted myself 100% to my corporate training management positions. When I lost my job in 2011 during my company's reorganization, I did a lot of soul searching and realized my passion since childhood is writing. I completed Internet research in self-publishing. Indie authors like Theresa Ragan and John Locke really motivated me to take the Indie route. Like them, I wanted to retain control of book design, writing, marketing, etc. Thus, my Indie journey began. 5) What’s your opinion about this Ebook revolution? I think it is fantastic. It has enabled me to become a bestselling author. I reading on my e-reader and I also love reading hard cover books. 6) Nowadays many publishers expect their authors to use Social media a lot to promote their books. Many authors, on the other hand, would prefer to write only, without being distracted by digital trivialities: what are your thoughts? For an Indie author, social media is imperative. I try to keep the daily writing and book marketing balanced to 80% writing and 20% interacting on social media. Early in my journey, I pledged to stay close to my readers, communicating with and listening to them. I enjoy social media because it gives me opportunities to communicate with my readers and learn more about each one. How can we find out more about you and your books? My books are sold on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Smashwords, Kobo, Sony, Diesel and more. More information on www.alexa-grace.net Info about the author:
