Stephanie Queen for Lost in Romance

by Louisa Klein

1) Why Romance? Did you choose this genre or were you ‘chosen’ by it?
They say you are what you eat—or rather in this case, you write what you read.
2) Please, tell us about your last book and, if you can, about your future projects.
I could say my latest release, The Throwbacks, was the book of my heart, but it was more like the book of my funny bone. It’s a romantic comedy mystery and it was a giggle to write.
My upcoming release, Playing the Game has no funny in it and in fact, it’s very intense. It’s about the superstar “priest” of professional basketball who gets “de-frocked” by a bold game-playing woman. That’s all I’m saying.
3) What’s your opinion about this Ebook revolution? Would you consider the indie route?
In this all digital world I feel like I have veins and arteries going from my fingers to my iPad—or maybe electric circuits going into my fingers…
But any revolution responsible for the proliferation of books is a fabulous thing!
As for the indie route: Go Indies! Who wouldn’t route for the authors in the epic David & Goliath battle between authors and publishers?
4) Nowadays many publishers expect their authors to use Social media a lot to promote their books. Many authors, on the other hand, would prefer to write only, without being distracted by digital trivialities: what are your thoughts?
I’m a social person and since I’m so connected to my electronics (see above), I thrive on digital socializing. I love Twitter best—it’s like a giant cocktail party with everyone slinging 140 character one-liners.
Info about the author:
Stephanie Queen lives in bucolic New Hampshire where her two sons visit when they’re not away at college learning how to run the world. Writing happy, snappy romances takes most of her time, however she does force herself to go to the gym on occasion so that she can continue to fit through the door. You can also find her watching UConn football and basketball games whenever they’re on, and sometimes even in person. Right now, she’s busy writing her next book, of course.
