Moon Hare to Egmont

Egmont Press has acquired two books for young readers about the Moon Hare, by new author and former CBeebies presenter Sue Monroe. The first book, The Magnificent Moon Hare, will be published in Spring 2012.
Commissioning editor Rachel Boden acquired World English rights from Claire Wilson at Rogers, Coleridge and White, in a recent auction. Boden said the Moon Hare, dressed in green stripy tights (that can accommodate a surprising number of stolen items), would “become a future classic character to sit alongside Mr Gum, Tumtum and Nutmeg and Winnie-the-Pooh”.
Sue Monroe has worked as a television and radio presenter on a variety of children’s programmes, including ‘Playdays’, ‘The Shiny Show’ and GMTV Kids, but is best known for her work as the programme links presenter on BBC’s CBeebies.
